Lazy Days

Hearing: traffic (we live on main road) and mum pottering around the kitchen.

Guess where I am? Back home in Oz! At the moment I'm out in the backyard soaking up the sun. The next door neighbor's kittens have come over to play and they are adorable. They must be about 2 months old. One of them looks exactly like my old cat Nooks who disappeared recently but is the father, he had a lovely relationship with this stray who my neighbor took in when she found out she was pregnant. And there is this other kitten who keeps play-attacking this older cat named Sooty they are so funny to watch.

So I'm just here enjoying being home, being lazy and looking forward to my 3 weeks here. I have my graduation to go to of course (not looking forward to that - my mum goes a little nutty and wants tonnes of photos and it gets annoying) and then a lovely week at Hamilton Island - HTI for a family vacation/graduation pressie to myself LOL.

By the way, my brother surprised me when I got home, he has a brand new motorbike a Suzuki TLR 1000! I love bikes!! I couldn't wait to get on it, I don't have my license yet but here's a pic anyway, i should warn you the car in the background was hired by my brother for my graduation as a present, a very smooth ride.

La Saleve, French Border

Hearing: Background tv noise.

Today was one of those days that seems to have escaped from a warm summers day. It was still cold out but the sun was warm. Not wanting to go to the same places again i decided to take a trip upto La Saleve. a mountain on the French border next to Geneva. After mentioning this idea to my friend, a nutty but fantastic girl J-, she had 2 other crew join us and in the morning when we were meeting up we ran into the Captain who also joined us.We took a bus/tram to the end of the line and walked a few meters from there to the French border where we didnt have to do anything and continued to the base of the Le Telepherique (J- is the one on the left)

The view from the top was stunning, it was the perfect weather for it too. You could see the whole of the city of Geneva and Le Jet.

We spent some time goofing around and playing on the nearby kids playground trying to coax the CP to join us which he sportingly did, took a walk and then before we headed back down these guys showed up, unrolled their parachutes and jumped!! It was really something, i took a clip of some guy jumping. There was a sign up with a phone number for those who were interested in tandem. I am so up for that but i haven't done it yet. (J- I told you those photos would end up on my blog)

We headed back down to the city and took a walk alongside the pier where everyone was out enjoying the rare sun. Some guys even had their shirts off sunbaking alongside their girlfriends (who had their shirts on in case anyone was wondering.) We walked along the raised platform to Le Jet and took some photos there, now I know everyone is going to laugh at the group photo cuz it looks like theres water spouting from my head so go ahead laugh I like the pic and that's all I care about so ner!

We took a bit longer walking back to the bus/tram stop because I kept stopping to take photos and can you really blame me? It was such a gorgeous day, perfect for photos.

A local soccer match.

Hearing:

So my friend O had the idea of going to a local soccer game since she knew one of the guys on one of the teams playing and naturally yours truely got dragged along. Actually i shouldnt say dragged since i was very curious. Like anywhere in the world the fans were exuberant and it was a sight to see all the guys in dish-dashes at a soccer game instead of being decked out in their team colours. I think we attracted quite a bit of attention too since we seemed to be the only girls there.

It was just a local game so the stadium wasnt full but still a lot of people turned out. O's friend arranged for us to be seated where the press and sponsors were to "protect" us from the staring male masses, as i said it was very unusual for girls to be there. There was a guy singing - or i should say bellowing - something throughout the game over the loudspeaker that it actually got quite annoying after a while (he didnt sound good at all). But it was fun and the excitement was infectious. It was a great night, something different and i wouldnt mind doing it again.
